Mark your calendar for June 22nd! Expo returns with the 2018 conference hosted by the SACC Training and Development Subcommittee, volunteers from Texas state agencies, and the E-Learning Council.
PROGRAM
The 2018 conference plans include:
- Opening keynote featuring Brian Francis. State agency leader by day, poet by night, Brian skillfully employs words to heal, lift, inspire, and create.
- Two tracks of breakout sessions of interest to those involved in training. Topics may include:
- Workforce 2020: Training and Empowering the iGeneration
- Basic Communication Style Inventory
- Creating Learning Experiences in a Swipe-Left/Swipe-Right World
- Do You “Buy” or “Make” Your Leaders?
- Making Your Message Memorable
- Next-Level PowerPoint
- Storytelling with Purpose
- Succeeding with SMEs: Lessons Learned
- One track of breakout sessions devoted to
elearning topics and hosted by the E-Learning Council. Topics may include:- Elearning for All: Creating Engaging and Accessible Online Training
- Using Microlearning to Develop Your Workforce
- Develop the Elearning Your Program Deserves for the Training Results You Want
- Wham! Bam! and Pow! Using Comic Book Design to Engage Learners
- Lightning Learning – an interactive, high-energy final session where many volunteers quickly share a training tip, game, or resource.

Registration will begin in early April with a $35 early bird fee and $50 regular. (Pre-registration required.) Some scholarships may be available. Volunteers from the University of Texas at Austin will handle registration and payments. |

Registration includes all educational sessions, parking, and break refreshments. Lunch is on-your-own. |

Pay with credit card at Agency purchase orders and personal checks can be accommodated if necessary. If purchase order, subsequent payment must be by check. Cancellations |
Registration fees are non-refundable. This is a local event being organized by volunteers with limited resources. Should your plans change, you are welcome to send a substitute. |
Scholarships: |
A limited number of financial need scholarships are available. Employees of Texas state agencies, inclusive of higher education, are eligible. Note – do NOT sign up via the regular online enrollment form if applying for a scholarship. Your request date will be locked in (early vs regular rate) should you not be selected. GET INVOLVED!
- Block your calendar and plan to attend.
- Help spread the word to anyone involved in training.
- This includes managers, program staff, and more. Not all have “training” in their titles!
- Volunteer to help at the conference.
- Offer to present a breakout session. (Call-for-presentations is closed.)
- Volunteer to share a tip, resource, idea in 3 minutes or less during the final session.
